Overview
The Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education Awards Program seeks to promote excellence in Career, Technical and Adult Education by recognizing:

  • Individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the field
  • Programs that exemplify the highest standards
  • Organizations that have conducted activities to promote and expand Career, Technical and Adult Education programs

The categories for Ohio ACTE & BIT Division Awards for 2003 are:

Ambassador Award - Recognizes educators who have made the highest meritorious contributions to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of Career and Technical Education.

Teacher of the Year Award - Recognizes teachers who are providing outstanding career technical programs in their respective fields and communities. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs that are serving to imporove and promote Career and Technical Education.

Outstanding New Career and Technical Education Teacher - Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs and have shown a professional commitment early in their careers.

Outstanding Teacher in Community Service - Recognizes teachers with significant accomplishments and outstanding leadership in programs and activities that promote community.

Additional recognition opportunities for Ohio ACTE members may be obtained by their selection as a recipient of the following Ohio ACTE state awards:

Distinguished Service Award - Recognizes educators who have made the highest contributions to improvement, promotion, development and progress of career, technical and adult education.

Pacesetter Award - Recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership or innovative program design through service to Ohio ACTE.

Professional Partner - Recognizes Ohio Department of Education CTAE Division partners.

Trendsetter Award - Recognizes members of the Ohio ACTE Board who have provided services to the organization through their committment to Career, Technical and Adult Education.
